Default Random Arenas Leavers : How to deal with them

[There's probably another thread about this but I kept searching for like 30 minutes and it kept giving me errors, most especifically the blank page]

Random Arenas is one of my favorite kinds of pvp, especially because it requires the least ammount of time to accomplish something ( gladiator points requires 30 minutes - 1 hour each ). I used to like RA before the gladiator title, but with the title track it became even better, making players think of good builds and actually trying to reach 10 wins in a row, making it more exciting.

Problem : with the titles, came the people who cheat to get it. Players that leaving at the beggining of the match are usually "synchers" ( 2 or more players try to synch the in-game countdown in RA to join the same team ). It frustrates both people who get their title track fairly and those playing regurlary and have to deal with 1v4,2v4,3v4 fights.

Solution : Like have been suggested before, there should be a mini-ban for RA each time someone leaves on purpose they should not be able to enter RA again for 20-30 minutes. Before the advent of reconnecting it would be a problem for people who err7. It shouldnt be anymore ( there was a match that I had to reconnect twice, but made it back in time to win it ).

Another problem of not being able to leave is having to deal with people using bad builds, but you gotta remember, even tho the learning curse in GW is short, not everyone is an expert, so deal with it : its Random Arenas.

Deal with it. I play RA 1-2 hours a day, and I've never found this to be a real problem. Also, not looking like a total noob will help. I leave when someone pings 55HP or uses mending for instance, and I think I'm right doing so.

Because lots of leavers are trying to syncronised with guildies / friends to cheat in Random Arenas, I would think they leave at the begining of the battle, so how about a substitute, when this happens the timers reset and another player takes their place.

Leavers and Leechers of Random Arena (or any pvp play) not cause by 007 or crashes, will have a negative marks following their account where at a certain points will render their in game name red

I agree something needs to be done bout RA , i remember a time when RA was fun and enjoying , a place where we could test builds have endless random and sometimes insane rants in local chat.. the chats are still there worse than ever..lol but the fun and enjoyment is being suckd away slowly. First lets say this If u want a TEAM go to TEAM ARENA stop leavin in Random Arenas ... the point is Randomly generated teams goin for a pt based upon the teams skill and ability. Sometimes this may mean u have nothin on ur team.. sometimes u have teams that will go well into TA battles and do well. the point is RANDOM and with the leavers and such comin and goin ..

I suggest lets just do this ... make it so NO CHAR can map travel out til the VICTORY mark has been reached, kinda like an AUTO LOCK OUT of map travel. then when the battle is over the ppl who would like to leave can during the interval, that way the next round will have a full team either way. simple and effective and solves leavers too. and if they log out of the match just to get outta the battle make them wait 15 mins before they can join any arena pvp. I mean seriously u want a team thats supposed to do well GO TO TA and form ur uber glad team. [ remember last summer when TA was bustlin] well dont KILL RA TOO as its still one of the few pVp aspects that actually remain fun and non pressured. its meant to be that break thru for new pvers goin pvp and pvpers to test or just play without the quirkiness or pressures of the HA or gvg environment. [build of the weeks] Im not some high ranked glad only a mere r2 which i got from RA only, no TA and never on a dble glad pt weekend ...heck those weekends are the reason RA farmin started ..and we have the problems we are living now but its becoming frustrating down there and its about to die off soon if somethings not done.

It's wrong assumption. It is imposible to be so many leavers due to guildmates. "Leavers" are leaving because "no monk", "4 mesmers" or any other reason they think the team is bad (in their opinion) and do not allow them to farm gladiator point. In old times, before Anet invented titles, leavers were not a problem on RA (they were much less numerous than now). Similar problem seems to be in Alliance Battles, as you may read in some threads in guru forum (many people leave very fast, even at almost draw result, for example 20:50).

I play also quite often RA and my feelings are totally different. Sometimes for more than 30 minutes you cannot play even single normal 4v4 fight (you have 1v4, 2v4, 3v4 on your or opponent side). If you play any character different from monk (or warrior/assasin) you meet leavers in about 50% of teams. That's the reason I recently have to play a monk, and only monk (and not mesmer for example). When I play a monk, 50% leavers also exist, but in opposite teams.

One humorous incident from yesterday: All 3 people from my team leaved immediately at the beginning, but I won that fight and it was "flawless victory" - in opposite team 4 people left ...

Anyway - the best idea for solving out the leavers problem was suggested here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10160837

One more topic from plenty about "leavers problem": http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10172076

And one more suggestion - for admins. Why aren't "leaver's solution suggestions" included in a sticked topic "Index of ideas" in "PvP Suggestions" list?
